Sales and Distribution

Named account coverage and channel development, run as a single Japan practice.

// The Japan Context

Roughly 70 percent of Japanese enterprise software revenue flows through the channel layer

Japanese procurement is structurally intermediated. Published industry analysis puts the channel at around 70 percent of enterprise software revenue, with the rest transacted directly through named enterprise and public sector accounts. Vendors who staff only a direct sales team consistently fall short of their addressable market. A complete position needs both at once: direct engagement on strategic named accounts, and a programmatic channel run through the local systems integrator, distributor, and managed service provider ecosystem. StrategyCore has worked both sides continuously since 2001, which is how we compress time to first customer, protect deal economics, and route each opportunity through the right commercial structure.

How we deliver

01 /

Account Planning and Coverage Design

We build named target account lists across enterprise and public sector segments, each with stakeholder maps, procurement cycles, existing vendor relationships, and budget timing. In parallel we define the channel coverage model, including the partner archetype and governance each segment needs.

02 /

Executive Engagement and Pipeline Development

Structured engagement with CxO, buying centre, and procurement stakeholders in Japanese, backed by positioning material built for each account. We recruit, enable, and deploy channel partners against the same target accounts at the same time.

03 /

Validation and Proposal

We coordinate the technical evaluation, proof of concept, and architecture alignment with the client's enterprise architecture team. The proposal, commercial structure, and business case are built jointly with the internal sponsor, with channel deal registration and margin protection governed throughout.

04 /

Negotiation and Commercial Close

We manage the procurement engagement, legal review, and commercial negotiation under Japanese contract and procurement norms. Where it applies, we handle regulated and public sector requirements, including master reselling for clients who want revenue here without standing up a local commercial entity.

Discuss a Japan engagement.

We bring your product into the market, sell it through the partner channel and directly, and support it in Japanese, with a local team that has run this since 2001. The Japan operation is already built; you start from it, not from zero.
